who receives the cw network on dish network channel 251,252, 254 or 255. According to dish network these channels no longer exist. anyone on this forum get any of the above channels. was told today that was a distant network channel and they no longer offer them but they can offer me what use to be a upn channel like channel 238 or 8775.

When I signed up with E* they offered me the superstation package which included the CW out of New York (CW11). Additionally, I get WOR out of NY and other channels from LA (KTLA) and WGN from Chicago and WSBK out of Boston I think. I just looked and they're still there.
The superstation package is not a distant network package. It is something different. The stations in the package are named in the law allowing them to be carried nationwide. They are not distants. Some markets have local stations that claim local broadcast rights to some of the content of these and have them blacked out.
I, too, have the Superstation Package. Go to www.dishnetwork.com and go under 'What's on Dish/Local Channels'. Enter your address and it will tell you whether you can get the Superstation package.

The only Superstations that are available to you are UPN Boston and UPN New York. In addition, due to a court ruling last December by a Federal judge. DISH Network is no longer able to provide any distant local channels to any of our customers.
I certainly don’t want to loose you as a customer and I don’t think Angie would either. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to provide you with the CW local channel in your area. I know that this may not be the answer that you are looking for, but this is what we have available right now.

Well that email does indicate that some superstations are available to you---they just are not CW ones. Is it possible that some CW station in your area (even one you can't receive) has requested a blackout. The blackout might also be requested because of syndex.

Not according to the email you posted. In the email you posted it stated that: "The only Superstations that are available to you are UPN Boston and UPN New York." How is that "ALL"?
What a Dummy! Doesn't he know they are no longer UPN!
255 is working here. San Diego was serving the West and Miami was serving the east before the FCC got down on them last month with the out of area locals push.

The Cincinnati Area has a Clear Channel-owned CBS affiliate with a CW sub-channel called the CinCW. Dish does not carry the sub-channel on their system.
I have asked this question before and never got much of an answer. I am interested to find out what markets get what CW channels automatically with locals on Dish channels 251-255.
Those that get CW on channels 251-255 please post which channel and what TV market you are in!

I also live in the Cincinnati area, signed up November 2006. When I realized that other (older) customers in the Cincinnati area were receiving CW on channel 254, I called up E* and was told that I do not qualify for the channel as part of my locals -- but someone down the street who has had E* for a while could already have it. Was offered superstations at $1.99 each or something like that, but passed since I receive the Cincinnati OTA channel and the Dayton full channel OTA.
I'm still not sure why I wasn't able to receive the same channel you (and others) are getting, obviously something is being grandfathered in.
Not to hijack the thread but if Dish cannot carry distant nets then how are they showing non superstation CW stations? Just asking.
I would speculate they have worked out a deal with the CW net directly to offer this in markets that do not carry the CW.
