Well the rumor is that Cower will take a year off, the Dolphins make Capers somewhat of a interm coach and go heavily after him aftr NEXT season.
Sad day for all of us steeler fans, My wife and I loved and respected Bill Cowher as a coach (how could you not) I wish him and his family well, and thank him for all the great years he has given us!
I just hope this dosent start a tail spin of coaches in pittsburgh, as their solidness at coaches has made them who they are, Look at the Cleveland browns who change their coach/players as much as their underwear and look at what state they are in.
Yeah 1 o'clock press conference. It will be announced today that Bill Cower is going to resign from the Steelers.
I think that Cower is going to take '07 off with the intent of returning to the Browns in 08. Good riddance to Crennel. He is nothing but a defensive coordinator at best.
Jimbo, I totally agree with your assessment. Why can't the Lions ever hire a coach of his caliber?I'm thinking they will give Weisenhunt a long look even though he has a interview next week.
Yes the Steelers will miss Cowher, I liked everything about him.
Maybe Weisenhunt will have the job for a year and Cowher comes back in a year or two ?, Weisenhunt going back to O.C.
I know , highly unlikley, but wishfull thinking.
Ya gotta admit Cowher could make a whole lot more money elsewhere....
IF the Steelers would pay anybody maybe they would have won several more Super Bowls ....
EVERY YEAR, they lose good players because the Rooney's won't pay to keep people around.
Cowher being the latest, higley underpaid for a coach for 15 years.

Cowher will NOT coach in Cleveland, ever...

They had one with Bobby Ross, but drove him away.Jimbo, I totally agree with your assessment. Why can't the Lions ever hire a coach of his caliber?
Maybe the Ford's can try to get Cowher after this next year.
Bill won't find anyone else as dedicated to his coaches, (other than the current Steelers) Ford can get rid of Millen before that and bring in a real NFL GM, one that has a clue.
