OK here is what has been bugging me. Ever since I got my new 1000.4 installed and found out the switch has an input for a wing dish I have been trying to figure out or find out something. And that something is this:

If I put up my old dish 500 and point it at another bird could I pick up some west coast local channels? Or maybe some mountain locals, or even east coast locals?

I don't know if it legal or even possible. I would like to see some of those local news broadcasts because I have family and friends in all those areas. Any help? Thank you.

No, cause most locals are on a narrow spotbeam, as opposed to a conus beam.

Correct. Also, Dish is a subscription service, so if you aren't paying for it, you aren't going to get it.

Not for local channels, you may receive some different PI channels (which are free).
