Hi.

I have a hd dvr receiver.
the cable used from the dish to my house about 50 feet is the correct cable (i forget the type) but it is the one required.
But once it gets to my house it is connected to existing time warner cable that is the older type ( runs another 30 feet or more )of cable that people say will not work, but it does.

I get good signal strength as well.

The question is ...is my picture quality affected by not using the correct cable to make the full run from dish to receiver?

Thanks Joe

There is loss of signal strength if the correct cable is not used. If you are boarderline, it should be replaced. If it is still high enough that you are not suffering from ongoing aquireing signal screens popping up while you are watching then you may be ok.
