Coolsat (and maybe other receivers) question on scanning

Bear with me, I am still learning.

I was playing with my CS5k tonight and was doing a rescan. What is the difference between and Auto Scan and Blind Scan?

I am new also using a Fortec. On the Mercury II the Auto Scan, scans known TPs for channels. The Power Scan(Blind Scan) scans all frequencies to find TPs with signal, then for channels on all found TPs.
