Coolsat 9000 now listed

I see that the Coolsat 9000 is already listed for pre-order, looks physically and specs wise to be just like the 8000 at first glance. I also saw at another site, the same info, but called the coolsat 8100

Maybe this one will have some of the features the 8000 was suppossed to have. Still no mention of blind scan though

Yeah, that's what confused me. Only thing I got back from coolsatusa when I emailed them was "yes, the 8100/9000 is real and will be on the market soon. Final specs however have not been released and we are not sure why the retailer you mentioned has it posted"

Sounds like the model number will be a last minute decision.

Look at the 5000/6000 Coolsats.

If they can't innovate, include a new remote, change something trivial (like EPG memory), recycle and old chassis and you've got a new model number .

I was going to suggest the 8100/9000 names might be for Euro vs North American markets.

But the 5000/6000 comparison makes a good point.
After a lot of research, I never did figure out their difference.
Should I dig up a cheap deal on a 6000, or just go with any 5000 instead?



The other thing some manufacturers do (and I'm not suggesting it happened here), is to release different specs or model numbers to different sales channels.
Then, when the facts come out ahead of the product, you know who leaked it.
In this case, I guess there isn't much question.

In my email to coolsatusa today on a few things, but one of them was this receiver, the response I got from sales was ( I included the link to the retailer)

"I have never heard of the 9000 or an 8100, I am not sure why that reseller has the item that appears to be an 8000 listed as a 9000 and states it as coming soon. We do plan to have an updated 8000 with USB and some other enhancements"

i think the coolsat 4000 and 6000 look alike
i think the coolsat 5000 and 6000 are just alike (spec wise) ... just the 6000 has a little bit more memory for EPG ( which is mostly not used here)
the new 9000 might be the revised 8000 that does a blind scan althogh i thought this would be a ability that software could achive ( there is another thread on it i think about the filmwear update)

the running line was the 6000 was a 5000 guts in a 4000 case. Pretty much that was it

hat's true for SD. Kind of overstate for HD. Let not have him had a high expectation of HD feeds. Yes there are, but not a lots.
