Coolsat 8000HD price drop

Anyone else notice the drop in price? Two dealers I buy from here in Canada have both dropped their price on the 8000 today. One by $40, the other by $90! I wonder if sales are poor or if they are worried about the other hd offerings about to hit the market? In any case I'm glad to see its happening, the Coolsat still has a ways to go to cover all the bases for me.

I've read in a few places that the Coolsat 8000 is about to be replaced by a newer model. That could be the reason for the price drop on the 8000.

The word was, when the Coolsat 8000 came out, was that "the next batch" would have the promised but missing USB port, and other advertized/promised features.
I wasn't following it, but apparently that never happened.
I guess the 8100 or whatever it's called, will be that "next batch".

And in fairness to Coolsat, the 8000 has really only been out a couple of months.
To a manufacturer, that's no time at all.

Every time I see a new hd receiver, the first thing I ask is :

Does it support 4:2:2 and is it blindscan.

Most of the time they don't know exactly what I'm talking about. So we know why they made those receivers.

Oh, I'm sure someone somewhere will come out with another new gadget/toy
that I can dream about.
May not be able to afford, but, certainly dream about!
