Down in the Bootheel
Received my Geosatpro 36 inch offset dish,SL1 single output lnb today and been trying to hit AMC3 at 87w with no luck at all. Pretty sure my settings are correct lo feq at 10750
single choosen in the menu, transponder 11716 h, diseqc off,22khz off good signal 92(i know
signal is connection between lnb and receiver) but could'nt even get a beep on it.
Say thats another thing i am assuming that this thing will beep when you hit some kind of signal from the sat is that correct or not,i was out of the line of sight and listening to hear the beep, maybe i assumed to much!
Just have it on a pole right now no motor involved.

Semokid, i might be wrong but my coolsat never had or i could never find an audible when locking on a tp. i took a small black and white tv outside to see when the quality hit. when i first tried it i used the satellite meter finder (15 dollar one) that did have an audible but i ended up locking the incorrect sat, but they do work. extra info you probably know but just in case: make sure your pole is plumb, azimuth and elevation is set correct for your location and clear line of sight.

Yeah thats kind of my take on the audible on it,i could'nt see the tv and like i said i assumed it would. It has gotten dark on me and i have to work tommorow so i will get my small tv out Thursday like i should have done today, i knew better but did'nt do better!

For what it's worth, my Coolsat 7100 has a very nice audible signal meter. But, the 7100 is a whole different beast from the earlier models!

Well without going to far into it,when i used this receiver for things other than intended it would beep loudly while tuning in a sat,i
would have used my Pansat 3500 if the sat list was'nt so screwed up!

Here's beeping firmware update for your coolsat:
FTAFirmware for Coolsat
Also, make sure you have the proper skew on the LNB.
And ... use a satfinder program which takes into consideration the local magnetic offset from North.
(most do)

edit:
Oh, and the 7100 is made for Coolsat by a whole different company, so it's not even a half-brother.
It's more like an adopted brother, at best.
Same last name, but totally different genetics all 'round! ;)

Thanks Anole,
Did every thing you mentioned, set the skew back to zero on the lnb after no results i will set it back to where i had it. Will the v2.4 loader work to download the file?

Semokid,

Yes, the 2.4 loader will work fine for loading the FTA firmware that Anole posted. It is actually recommended.

Didn't know that...I guess that's why the menus look so different.

Anole,
Downloaded the cs6000_06p_20091223stb file and could not find anything in this file for the option to turn the beep on or off!

Semokid,

The BEEP TONE option is only presented in the MANUAL SCAN mode.

There is a specific reason for it to be located here. This forces you to enter and select the specific transponder that you are looking for on a specific satellite while you are aligning the dish.
This helps prevent you from aligning to an incorrect satellite.

I know nothing about your setup however on my equipment 10750 (which is the default) will get absolutely nothing for me. I use 10600 with 22 khz ON.

The op has a standard type LNBF, so LO 10750 is the correct setting. Your LNBF is different and is a Universal type, so you must set up the receiver differently.

The biggest problem was that i was trying to tune in Amc3 at 87w which is primarily c-band,have it parked on 97w just looking around at the moment! That and like i said i was out of the line of site of the tv and listening for a beep that was'nt going to happen untill i
loaded the file as supplied by Anole with help from Acwxradar thanks to both.
