i have been looking for this for this formula for days and found it on wiki:mad:

The name of the transponder file for a satellite is XXXX.ini, where XXXX represents the satellite position in tenths of degree, eg. for 28.2E the filename will be 0282.ini, for 30.0W the filename will be 3300.ini (i.e. (360.0-30.0)*10).

this makes thing easy when writing your own dvb pograms:D

Yea, wouldn't it have been so much easier if that info was more obvious everywhere those files are offered?
I remember it took me a while to figure out what the #&|| the silly names were all about.
I don't think I ever found a description. Good to know you located it at Wikipedia.

But, the creators of that terminology probably think we're the odd ducks for using the strange "west" format for our birds.
