control cable box volume on remote

Hey, I have a Explorer 4240HDC and I just plugged my computer speakers in to the second audio output in the back. I've looked through the settings that I can find and I can't figure out how to make the cable box remote control the volume for the cable box itself because that turns the volume down for the speakers, but not the tv volume, and the tv is all fancy and only has digital audio output.

I've messed with setting the volume control to the "variable" options but it didnt affect it. Anybody mind telling me how to change this?

yea you actually gotta change the settings on your remote to make it control the boxes volume... if you still got the book the instructions are in there otherwise i got a some out in my truck i can check for you... sorry i cant remember off the top of my head
