I read a post, but now can't find it, where someone modded a SG2100 with a laptop PS to provide a continuous 18v.

My Azbox is having problems pushing my SG6000 motor when my circular (11250) LNB is selected. It doesn't matter if it's V or H. Sometimes it doesn't supply enough to even start the motor moving. Other times it can take two minutes to move into position.

The SG2100 and SG6000 are similar. Time to cut and solder.

Does anyone know where I can find that post?

Thanks

As I recall, the 2100 mod required extra wires to bring in the power from a laptop power supply.

You might want to consider this more recent mod by Pendragon.
It uses one of the connectors on the motor for power, the other for control.
It's a little more clever, so I suggest you use ideas from both threads.

That was the one I remembered reading.

Thanks to both of you for getting back.

Good tip for anyone, guapoharry, but the power issue is only with my Azbox, and only with the 11250 setting.

My other receivers push it fine.

I like my Azbox better than the others but can't wait for this issue to be addressed (if ever).

The mod looks easy enough. And the higher voltage means FASTER! FASTER=BETTER!
