This is probably a stupid question but does dish network still have those screens that say congratulations your pointed at orbital (for example 61.5)?

I think they do. I'm pretty sure they are unencrypted so they can be used by technicians to check that the equipment is properly working. I'm a DirecTV sub, and they have a similar setup with the Sports Packages channel (channels 100 and 113) and the Satellite Test channels (9501 to 9512)

I believe the "Your receiver is on 61.5" channel for Dish is on channel 9582. See what comes up when you tune to that.

Thanks for the info!. When I get my hopper duo for my birthday do you think it will come in on that reciever and my dp301 that's coming too?

Yes. They just have to be hooked up to an Eastern Arc dish.
