Greetings All!
New member in this wonderful, informative forum. I have been a dish customer for 10+ years, with Dish Intl programming from 61.5.
Dish folks agreed to do a no-cost upgrade (I added Dish Top 200 + HD, after deciding to dump Comcast) and are bringing a 1000+ dish.
Initially, I was excited as I thought that I would be able to get all of my US + HD + intl programming from one dish (with 110, 118.7, 119, 129 orbital slots). This would allow me to get rid of my 61.5 dish. Now, I realized that it will be a pole mount with 4 wires trenched in across my backyard.
Would I be better off just asking for a Dish 1000.2 dish (as it has a built in switch and would only need 2 coax cables buried/trenched instead of 4, having picked a 722 + either a 625 or a 322 set of receivers) and ask them to reuse the existing Dish 61.5 feed? The installers seem somewhat clueless, they still have not been able to bring the right equipment after 2 trips (which may actually may have been beneficial for me thus far -lol- ).
Someone indicated that all of the Intl programming is being moved from 61.5 to 118.7 (I am not sure what is proper, as I get varying answers from Dish folks, they seemed confused as hell!).
I want to minimize the buried coax in my backyard - your feedback will be gratefully appreciated!!
