A few months back, I switched from Dish to Comporium cable for HD reasons. I have been very satisfied thus far, however, now Comporium is pulling NBCHD as of Feb 1. Apparently NBC is charging a fee to all cable providers for the HD feed. Comporium is refusing to pay this fee (which in a letter from their marketing dept was described as a $5 per customer fee). However, today in the local paper, there is anarticle about it containing an interview with a rep from NBC. The fee is not $5 per customer...
from the article:
WCNC General Manager Stuart Powell said other cable providers pay the fee, which he would not disclose but said would be much less than $5 per customer.
"What we've offered Comporium is similar to other cable providers," he said. "We are certainly not asking for $5 a month -- it's a tiny, tiny fraction of that."
Instead, we are getting Universal HD, which won't show NASCAR and will have limited college ball and Olympics. Is there anyone else on this forum that feels like we are getting burned on this?
