completely lost 97

Can't beleive it, can't get any transponders on 97west today. Wanted to see CCTV and other Chinese stations about the earthquake. Had the complete TP list working for years and was up just last week. Nextdoor Galaxy on 95 is normal. If it was a windstorm, why is everything else still working I wonder left to right? Hmmmm This really bothers me!

It's on both but I usually got more of it on 97. I guess since there has been no replies on this the problem must be on my end due to a wind storm. I'm wondering if 97W is just a tad up or down in elevation from 95 and 99? And my dish is off kilter.

I have never found CCTV on 97.

CCTV 4 is on 95W and 113W. There is no CCTV on 97w.
CCTV 9 , CCTV F and CCTV E are only on 95w.
I am talking about KU here.

CCTV is on 95W (still) despite threats to remove it and rely instead on SatMex.

However, perhaps it is worth noting that in the last 72 hours I've had some strange problems too with CCTV. USALS was just not getting it and I had to flip over and step around a little to the East to get some signal quality. I'm not sure why, as the signal on other birds is as it was last week. Just CCTV seems to have been a bit off the last few days.

There was a time when CCTV 4 had two transponders there, but I'm not sure how it is today.

As for earthquake coverage, there has been some, but it's pretty censored and not necessarily interrupting regular coverage (as compared to the torch going up Everest which warranted a 6 hour 'special report').

Could someone please tell me what is the strongest transponder on 97W right now?

It is possible that his dish is aimed at 95w and his receiver is setup on the 97w entry. Sleepybear, what other channels are you picking up from that satellite when you do a scan?

That's what I was going to think. They're pretty close and when adjusting it's more than possible to get the two confused.

There are a few Chinese channels on 97. DAI-TV (Love soap operas) MAC-TV Taiwan (comes and goes), and NTD-TV (Falun Gong tv, which has lots of Chinese soap operas intersperesed with anti-communist documentaries). ETTV-US used to be on 97 FTA, but I haven't seen it in a long time.

Many thanks Bob! I was two birds off west! I am not used to looking at any channels on 101 or 95, never watch them. But I am familliar with 97 and I know I didn't have 97. I'm changing my LNB's this weekend and will try and reset the dish and then do some new scans. I already can see I have some roof damage up there.

Those channels are all on AMC4 101W.
