I didn't know you could put a receive only LNB on that feedhorn, lack of dual polarity might be a pain though. Any advantage to using the LNB over the Maverick LNBF I installed?
Using the feed horn that is matched to the dish is usually preferable. I have a couple Ku dishes with the original feed horn on them. One has a ortho feed with two single polarity LNBs and the other has an Inverto Black Pro flange LNB (dual polarity)

The LNB shown only receives horizontally polarized signals, where a standard LNBF for consumer use (Maverick, Geosat) receives both horizontally and vertically polarized signals
Got it dialed in this morning. Works great with my goofy bracket and Maverick LNBF. I'll save that feedhorn that came on it, just in case.......
Living out in the boonies, I had Hughesnet for years, via that same setup. Fortunately they put up a cell tower at about the same time that I had a huge falling out with Hughes. (My satellite modem went bad, and they refused to commission another, and then they refused to close my account and stop billing me, even though I never even had a contract with them {self-installed, owned equipment, month-to month at will access).
ANYWAY, I kludged together a bracket and put a regular KU LNB on it, and have it pointed @ 87 W for the raw news feed mux and PBS.

Nice! looks like you have the same dish as mine. I am also in central NM and looking for a big dish.....
I use inverto dual LNBs so I can get both polarities on these feedhorns and run them with a powered switch. Works very well, better than a standard LNBF. I think the large conical horn helps to filter out adjacent satellite and interference signals better than the smaller ones.
Too bad the seal/protector is broken, but I am sure there is something that can replace it.

Painted, new Inverto flange LNB attached, and moved to the other side of the porch. The Inverto doesn’t really fit but I think I can fix that with a drill. The splotches are from it raining dirt the other night......

There is likely an adapter available for square to round waveguide, most of those in my experience have been the round waveguide connections on the feed horn. Yours looks different from the feed horns I have seen up here. Then we don't actually have Hughesnet doing the installs here, goes by another company name up here so parts could be different. Usually if a subscriber cancels they will come and remove the dish, receiver, etc., unless they are really remote and not worth the trip.
