Comcast SportsNet Northwest

Haven't heard anything, but I found this, according to Wikipedia...

CSN Northwest is seen on several cable systems as many of the larger satellite systems maintain that Comcast is negotiating in bad faith. For example, on one hand Comcast argues that the channel must be on a low tier with the most customers. At the same time Comcast argues that non-Comcast owned channels should be shown only on a sports tier.

It is dumb when Dish won't add this channel on the basic cheap packages when Direct TV provide this station with the locals.

CSS is a cable only sports network
CSNPhilly is using an old loophole from the PRISM days and is not on satellite

CSN NW is on satellite but DIsh doesn't have an agreement yet

uh commodore dude

do you know that Fox College Sports is a cable only item because its already available on satellite? Its called the Multi-Sports package ;)

DIRECTV does NOT offer CSN NW (in SD nor HD). If they did, it would be only be part of the basic package for those whom it is "regional"; just as it would be with DISH Network.

Comcast seems to be making quite a bit of noise about CSN NW HD being exclusive to Comcast. I don't know of any cable systems in Oregon other than maybe Ashland that offer it in SD.

Wouldn't count on it. Comcast is using the exclusivity as a marketing ploy to get people to switch to Comcast...and the Blazers are in bed with them and refuse to put any pressure on to reach deals with satellite providers.

Once they saw the team improving and getting more popular, they sold out to Comcast, cashed in, raised ticket prices in a recession, and basically flipped the bird to the loyal fans that stuck with them through the lean years.

Paul Allen is the chairman of Charter Communications and Charter doesn't have a deal for the Blazers.

All good business decisions.

And for the fans that feel "flipped off" they don't have to buy tickets or pay/watch on comcast. :tux:

Very true and very sad!! Comcast is not even in my area and if it was i STILL would not get them! They have blocked me out of watching the Blazers and the A's!

CSN NW is on C-Band satellite (but scrambled) so it is available to any cable/sat company who will pay for it. Unlike CSN Philly where there is no option

VIP-622 freezing & locking up.. Dish says its "known issue"?
