We just got the notice for new channels for the Insight/Comcast transition, and I must say I am impressed.
First, they have added a sports tier, so that I can get rid of it. That will save me $4/month. I would lose the NBA, NHL and NFL networks, along with college sports, soccer, tennis and horse racing. However, for some strange reason, it also includes Fox Movie Channel
New HD by April 30: A&E, ABC Family, Animal Planet, CNN, Comcast Sportsnet, Discovery, Disney, Food, MOJO, TBS, TLC, USA, VS/Golf, WGN, AMC, HGTV, History, Nat Geo, SCI-FI, Cinemax, Starz, NFL.
22 new HD channels on top of the 8 or so we have (plus locals)
They will be removing some channels for bandwidth, mostly west coast feeds, Lifetime Real Women, and ALN.
Some channels in the HD Pak move to standard tiers (UHD and HD Theater). Price goes down some, but the only channels left are HD-NET and HDN Movies. That is kind of a surprise, as I expected these to be removed completely.
This will be enough to keep me putting up with the lousy DVR for awhile. Good job Comcast.
