Phillies Games, Primetime Series and Movies Add to Leading HDTV Lineup
As Sponsor of Phillies in HD on UPN 57, Comcast to Deliver All Remaining Home Games in High Definition
PHILADELPHIA, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast, the nation's leading cable and broadband provider, and WPSG-TV announce the addition of UPN 57 in high definition to the area's most robust HDTV lineup. UPN HD is available immediately to Comcast customers in the Philadelphia area on channel 236 and is now one of 16 HDTV channels and seven local broadcast channels available to Comcast customers. The channel will launch in South Jersey starting June 15 and, at that time, will be available to all Comcast customers in the Philadelphia DMA.
With the addition of UPN HD, consumers will be able to experience every remaining Phillies home game with the added advantage of the highest standard in home entertainment - crystal clear HDTV with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Comcast offers 16 channels in high definition including ESPN, Discovery, INHD, INHD2, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, Comcast SportsNet, and local broadcasters ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, WB and now UPN. Satellite does not provide any local Philadelphia broadcasts in HD.
