Ok.. I have been told it is possible to combine a 3x4 and a 4x4 (w/ 22kHz) and you will have a 6x8. I called DTV and they told me that it can be done but they don't know how.

Is this possible. I have a customer that I am trying to get around selling him the expensive zinwell w/ flexport 6x8.

Thanks,
Joe

BTW .. the way I was told is that you come off port 3 and 4 on the 4x4 and send those to 13v and 18v in on the 3x4. What happend when I did that 2 receivers saw the 72.5 and 2 didn't. (FYI....one was a Tivo. Hence the need for 5 ports)

Right! Just as I thought. You can use a 4x8 Zinwell Sam4803. if you have a round dish for 101 and another for 72.5. But it would not work for a three lnb or Phase III elliptical dish.

These 2 dishes are both round

If you have 2 round 18 in. dishes and 4 receivers , you need a DTV Approved 4x4 to make things work properly on all receivers. There are a couple that work for this.
If you are throwing a Tivo or something in there that needs more outlets(2 lines per Tivo) then you dont have much choice but go to a larger switch.

All in all if you called DTV and told them you wanted locals added they would supply the 2nd dish and the switch!
