Coleman Cable and WildBlue

I recently finished building my house and got the wildblue internet service. The wildblue guy came by today saying I had a week signal and it would spike up every so often causing a loss of service. He at first said it was probably the "tree" but wanted to come look. When he got here he looked at my wire and and said that Coleman cable is not approved and said that was the problem. I explained it was swept tested to 3.0 GHz, solid copper conductor, quad shielded cable. He said he could not explain it but that Coleman was not approved. They replaced the 'tree' anyways and the signal got better right away. The installer said that they have had to replace tons of these in the past and that whether they want to admit it or not there was probably a OEM problem with the 'trees.' The other guy told me again that they will probably have to come back and re-run the cable with something besides coleman which is not an option for me. My question...Is coleman cable really a bad cable or is he full of it?

When I got certified, WB only had a few items on their approved list. Not because stuff was crap, but they just hadn't gotten around to testing it. They said if we knew of good materials, to recommend them for testing/approval. Maybe you should do that.

Besides, everybody knows they are having major tria issues right now. Maybe someday they will figure it out.

I'm sure your cable is better than most use. If the installer is so sure its a cable prob, he could run a temp drop (through a window if necessary) from dish to modem to prove it.
