As many of you know, VOOM went boom and alot of us are trying to adapt
our old setups to work with other providers. My house is wired a bit strange
and I have a great desire to NOT drill any holes in it to run more coax from
the outside to the distribution panel. What I have now, is 2 RG6 run from
the panel to the south side of the house, and 1 RG6 run to every TV point
in the house. There are 7 jacks available thoughout the house, but I only
need 4 active at any point. Is there anyway to feed all these connections
without putting more holes to run alot more coax. I'm wanting to have the
ability to run a tripple LNB if I need to at a later date. HDTV is not that
important, because frankly what is there is nothing that interests me.

Outside -> Panel = 2 RG6 Coax
Family Room -> Panel = 3 RG6 Coax (clustered, 1 in use)
Bedroom 1 -> Panel = 1 RG6 Coax
Bedroom 2 -> Panel = 1 RG6 Coax
Bedroom 3 -> Panel = 1 RG6 Coax
Living Room -> Panel = 1 RG6 Coax

If you are going to use more than 2 recievers you will need to run more lines from the panel to the dish.

Depends on what service you get. If you get dish network and are in an area that uses the Dish 500 you will be okay for four rooms with two dual tuner recievers as the installer can use DPP equipment which only requires two lines from the dish to your panel. What is your location??

actually you dont even need dpp... you can use regular DP and put a DP34 at the panel.

As for D* it would work for sure without locals but locals (possibly) and HD (definitely) requite the Phase 3 dish... and ALL 4 line run.

If you are going without HD and use a round dish your fine, your just need a 3x4 or 3x8 multiswitch, but if you what HD you need the oval (PhaseIII) dish which will require 2 more lines running from the dish to the panel and then you can split them up with a 4x8 or 5x8 powered multiswitch.
