Hello,

This may be off topic, but I have been looking of doing another hobby along with my FTA hobby, and that is restoring old gas pumps, yes, restoring old 50's gas pumps... :D Anyway, I ran across an article on that forum about doing electrolysis (and no, not the hair removal kind) on the metal. Really no prep is involved for the metal, just a big non-conductive bucket, Washing soda, battery charger, and a sacrificial piece of metal (lots of people use stainless steel, but it is debatable on whether it is safe or not). Here is the link to the article. (Lots of good pictures)

Now electrolysis cannot be done on Aluminum pieces, but it can be used on any other metals, and from what I have seen, it works really good. So for people wanting to rehab their C-band mounting brackets and things like that, this may be a really good way to clean them of rust and old paint. I just thought that i'd mention this because I can just imagine trying to get all the rust off of my mounting brackets.
