can the ci interface be removed from an rca or huges dtv receiver and be

installed in a DVB receiver ?

This sounds like hacking, which isn't allowed or tolerated here.

Why would you need the ci interface out of a directv box then?

there are hundreds of vendors in the usa who sell programming alacartre AT REDUCED PRICES

if you have the right equipment but the dtv etc. people dont want the general public to know.

I AM NOT A HACKER!!!

I'm not accusing you of being a hacker, I was just saying that what it sounded like to me was hacking. I've never heard of someone taking a piece of equipment from one vendor (Directv in this case) and using it in a FTA box and it be legit. That would be illegal in itself anyway.

I apologize if it came across as me accusing you. I didn't mean it like that.

Its Ok I Bougt A Dvb Rec Cheap And Just Wanted To Know If This Could Be Done Since My Dtv Rec Are No Longer In Use And The Dvb I Purcchased Did
Come With Thi Ci Installed.

no it won't work. A directTv box uses different encryption than DVB.

not compatible..if you are looking for ethnic programming, did you try globecast? They have plenty of subscription channels on IA5
