[h=1]Change of Satellites[/h]Sep. 20, 2012
Three INTELSAT satellites used for broadcasting NHK WORLD TV and NHK WORLD
PREMIUM are due for phased replacement starting from August this year.
Current antennas and receivers can still be used without adjustment because the
positions and frequencies of the new satellites stay the same.
It is possible, however, that the reception of video and audio signal will be interrupted in
some areas while the satellite transition is made.
Satellite Replacement in September
IS-10 -> IS-20 (Intelsat, 68.5 degrees East)
Period of Possible Service Interruption
2:30 - 3:00 Wednesday 26th September 2012 (Japan Time)
17:30 - 18:00 Tuesday 25th September 2012 (UTC)
Areas of Possible Service Interruption
IS-10 covers Southwest & Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe region.
Please refer to the NHK WORLD website for details.
The satellite transition should only take a few seconds to complete but it is possible that
the disruption to video and audio will persist for somewhat longer.
The third satellite is due for replacement in October. The details will be announced
once they are known.
