Chang in the Air at DirecTV

DirecTV Inc. hired Charter Communications Inc. veteran Derek Chang as its senior vice president of strategy and development, officials said Monday.

Chang will report to David Hill, president of DirecTV Entertainment, and he will also work closely with DirecTV CEO Chase Carey.

Chang, most recently Charter’s executive VP of finance and strategy, will be responsible for developing new strategic areas of business for DirecTV.

Prior to Charter, Chang was executive VP of development for Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network.

That's pretty sad to hear, I have Charter here in North Atlanta and they have been the most pathetic excuse of a cable provider that exists, if he was VP of planning & strategy he woefully failed because they had none, so if he does at D* what he did at Charter don't expect anything new. Also isn't Charter on the brink of bankruptcy and this guy is also the VP of finance! why would you hire an apparent looser to an executive position?
