[I'm not sure whether this post belongs in the Dish Network Forum, the DVR forum, or the FTA forum]
According to dishchannelchart.com, this channel downloads a 5-minute instructional video to certain DVR models but the channel itself never appears in the guide.
Well I just found it on my FTA receiver on Echostar 6 (110W) at transponder 22 (12531, SR20000, Vpid=7458 Apid=7459). It appears to be a repeating loop of two very clean looking, professionally done (the annoying Australian guy is nowhere to be found!) videos: How To Use Your DVR and Why You Should Join ClubDish.
I have a DVR522 and I have never, ever, seen it download any of these. It only ever got the crappy name-based-recording overview when that was released (and that one was cut in half with the last part coming first).
It would actually be a good thing to have these recordings on hand so if somebody is visiting and asks what's so great about my DVR, I can just let them watch the demo instead of wasting all that time thinking and talking
My question: What criteria determines which machines actually download these promos, how often, and when? Has anybody ever actually seen these in their recorded programs list? Any way to tell the machine "yes I want you to record these"?
