Cedar Point Communications got the week off to a good start, announcing earlier today that
it raised $15 million in fresh financing. Cedar Point, a leading voice-over-IP (VoIP)
switch provider for the cable industry, said it will use the additional funding to support
increased manufacturing, marketing and sales activities in North and South America. It
will also draw on the funding for expansion in Europe.
Focus Ventures led the latest round of financing for the VoIP startup. Such existing
investors as Ascent Venture Partners, Battery Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Comcast
Interactive Capital, JP Morgan, Motorola Ventures and STAR Ventures also participated in
the round.
