Hi everyone, I'm new here and don't know if I'm posting in the right section but I could not find another place, to talk about this issue.

I'm modulating 8 cctv cameras as 8 different off-air rf channels and was wondering if there is a way to broadcast them over Multiswitch to 16 Direct tv receiver boxes inside a house.

Example if you turn on channel 116 it would show the front door camera, 117 side view, etc. I know there is a way to do it by switching tv to an anolog source source but all of the tv's are mounted flat on the wall and all boxes are hidden in remote locations and the only cable between the two is HDMI and cat5 used for IR repeater.

Any ideas?

If your multiswitch is one of those with a built in diplexor, then i don't see why not. What kind of switch are you using? some of them have a port labelled "off air antenna" which you would pipe those combined signals into, just diplex them back off the line behind the receivers. I'm not so familiar with some of the newer Direct switches and boxes though, i don't think you can diplex behind the HD boxes because those box/switch combos are using frequencies in the below 900 Mhz for the sat signal. I guess we need to know what kind of dish/switch combo you are using.

Firefox not as safe as thought
