Sounds like a Carnac The Magnificent bit.

Really, last night the game ended about 9 minutes late. I recorded the 11 o'clock news as usual to be able to see the end of the Mentalist. Normally all of the shows are skewed and autohop is disabled, but last night 60 Minutes and The Good Wife all "started on time" on my Hopper and autohop was enabled. The Aamzing Race was skewed but autohop was enabled. The Mentalist was also skewed and autohop was not enabled. Strange behavior.

There are many threads on this in regards to PTAT, best way to deal with recording sports during prime time, turn off PTAT at least the channel the event is on and set it's own timer and confirm 60 min added to the end. If you leave PTAT on, record the program listed after the event and add time to that just to make sure.
