CBC HNIC picture quality - *C

I have *C, the picture quality for HNIC last Saturday was terrible.....

Was it only me, or is that just what you get?

I tried them all, ended up watching Toronto feed as well. My picture was terrible....

Can/should I check the signal strength ECBNO????

EBno only would be for good signal

With digital, its either signal or none...but you can check

options 6-0-5 arrow right to Diagnostic C

depending on location and dish size, you should be near +10.0 (now with that new satellite, it should be higher)

I wasn't home to see the first game...I did see the 2nd game and the picture looked fine to me (on my 32" TV)

Uh oh.....

I just checked 302, ECB/NO 8.6 (bounces between 8.5 and 8.7). Checked 281, ECBNO 10.8. Checked 465, ECBNO 8.8.

I have a DSR500, went to 6-4-3 (I think, tune receiver) and on 281 there is constant tone, on 302 and 465, it beeps....

Think I need to re-align???

Oh, by the way; St. Paul Minnesota, 75 CM dish.

those are the signal levels I get, approximately..


If your alignment was off.. your picture would be cutting out.

Nothing with the signal level can make a specific channel look "bad", either its there, or its not..

hey, my neck of the woods (SW suburbs of Minneapolis)

Now I havent checked the new signal after the satellite was switched, but other than 281 (I dont have HD), those numbers seem right. On 298 (which is on the same satellite as HD) is around 11 for me. TSN (400) was around 9.9-10.0 This is with a 315. You dont need a repeak...those numbers are really good (anything above 7.5 is good)
