CB band open on Christmas morning

The CB band is open today, from NJ am hearing Florida and Georgia stations. The real strong signal on 27.025 megs is someone on CB channel 6, really booming in here. Earlier this morning band was open to Europe.

These days Channel 38, LSB is the place for listening to SSB signals. Back in the old days when sets were only 23 channels, Channel 16 was where the SSB'ers were.

Back in the old days before PLL tuners they had xtal sets and mine had an extra box and dial with a whole bunch of xtals added to my SSB radio. There were more than 23 channels for sure and all active
