Can't Program Remote for TV/Volume on new DVR

I got my new SD DVR working, but when I try to enter the various codes to program the remote for my TV, it does not work. My TV is about a 10 year old crt Panasonic. Do they no longer have codes that support TVs that old? I tried every code they provided.

If its the same remote try doing a remote reset. Press and hold mute theb punch in 981 on the keypad to do reset

It's a new remote that came with the new receiver.

if it is a combo unit (with vhs, dvd) the directv remotes dont tend to like the panasonic units...

It's not a combo unit, it's a TV only.

Try using the Remote Control Code Lookup on DirecTV.com. You can put in the brand and the model number (should be able to find it on the back of the TV). I'm pretty sure there are more codes there than in the receivers remote setup
