Dish Network installers came by today to install my satellite, but they couldn't find the cable box for the building. They checked the existing wiring for my wall outlets and said my cables were RJ6 and good to go for HD with existing wiring. Now, all we need to do is find the cable box. My HOA doesn't know where it is either.

I live in a 4 story (18 unit) condo in Los Angeles that was built in 1990 with a subterranean garage. Any ideas where I should start looking?

Thanks in advance!!

It's in the electrical room, usually next to the telephone room. Also, I believe that cables in these types of buildings, sometimes run to the cable tv ped. outside the building. I work for Charter Comm. here in the San Gabriel Valley. Ca. .

Your best bet would be to get one of your neighbors who have cable to call and setup a service appointment then ask the cable guy. Or if you see one in the building to ask him as well.
