Wtf is it so hard to accomplish.. I was talking an an agent on chat today and said she couldn't and it needed to be done by email or over the phone.. so I emailed them and get this..

Hello just want to make sure NFL sunday ticket auto renew is removed from my account because I know the early bird payments start to kick in around this time of year and I'm unsure yet if I will subscribe again.

Since you have gotten this response acknowledging your desire to cancel, you shouldn't have to do anything else. I don't understand why it's so difficult, though.
 
They wanted me to call but I want it on paper incase they still charge me

How does chat work for you guys? I never am able to get it to work. It always just opens up the same page telling me to sign in. It happens over and over.

if u Google directv chat.. there will be a direct link that comes up in one of the results.. it's the only contact I have with dtv.. never call never have to wait in the queue and u get a transcript of the whole conversation

makes it alot easier to get what they promised you. my buddy was telling me about a guy who had ~8 recievers, sunday ticket free "forever", and was only paying ~$150 a month because someone on the phone didn't know when to shut up and the call was recorded. no idea if its true, but it sounds like a good deal lol.

I'm guessing not true, just for the sole purpose of the RSA saying prices may change at anytime. I'm betting he got a good deal, but only for a limited time, and may have misinterpreted the offer.
 
Also, I have seen on the BBB website where they will offer to release someone from their commitment if an agent made a promise that couldn't be held up to, if the consumer wouldn't like the correct deal.

then send an email saying that you are canceling instead of "thinking of canceling" and if you decide you want it later, then do it from the website. That way "it looks"more legit
 
So they can talk you into staying ....
Pretty genius business move. If they save even 10%, doesn't make it worth it to them. If you are cancelling anyways, then you are gone, even if just a package and not the service. I will say they likely may go overboard sometimes with the save attempts. If they are anything like ATT, Dish, or Comcast, they have a retention rating that counts towards an agents bonus/promotion/end of year raise.
 
I call today and cancelled the the Sunday ticket. D offered it to me for free if I would be under contract for a year I declined . I call back later.

Cause I can call and get discount off my bill. If I under contract I can't do that.
 
You can get discounts while under contract as well. Just remember, you catch more flies with honey
