Can You Modulate HDTV?

Right now I modulate the output from my 2 522 receivers onto 2 different channels and redistribute them around the house.

If I upgrade to HDTV and a 622, can I do the same, especially where any TV could get the signal on a modulated channel? Or could I send the HDTV signal out some other way? I would prefer to not have to run an additional cable.

The Model 5000 used to have a really nice channel 3 HD modulator which sent a digital Modulated signal over coax that could be decoded with an 8VSB Tuner.

You could do this with the agile modulator built into the 622, it would be in SD, not HD.

I wonder where you get the modulators that circuit city and best buy use and the like...

They are for computers only, (BB and CC systems) You can get them but the problem is that they only accept video files from a computer. So it does no good with a normal satellite HD Box. Unless you have access to transport streams
