I have a 6000 with an 8SPK installed for HD. My question is this....can I recieve the HD programming from the 82 with that box? If so, is there any chance of picking up the 82 in Utah with a standard single Dish Pro lnb and an 18" round dish? BTW..I pick up the 91 at 95 signal strength on the meter. I have a billing address for BEV set up in Toronto. Thanks,

No - you need dual LNBF setup with minimum 24" dish or go to with 1 18" dish for each satellite (with appropriate multiswitch)

You can find instructions on a way to flush the 6000 and take it back to a virgin state if you search around the web.

At that point, you connect it to the 82/91 lnb and it will download the BEV info. Make sure you are not pointing to a Dish satellite position after you do it or it will download the Dish info.

Then you can easily authorize it on BEV if you have a BEV card for it.

And you wont need the 8PSK module as BEV doesnt use it nor will it recognize it.

HDTVfanAtic,
So the 6000 will display full screen authentic HD without an 8PSK? Interesting...hmmm. BEV must send down their signal in a more customer friendly way than Dish does? Dish software shows in the "System Info"..6000 (8PSK), while BEV software shows..6000C with the 8PSK installed.

Does anyone know if a Dish 500 with a Dish Pro Plus lnb will pick up both the 82 and 91. Has anyone had success doing this? I know the 82 sits about 5 degrees lower than the 91 in my neck of the woods, so can you simply adjust the skew on the Dish 500 to zero in both? Or would I have to point in only the 82 on the 500, and add the 91 with an 18" dish using a single lnb? Thanks,
Bullet

It will pickup both satellites; the question is will your receiver accept internal switch ( SW64 ), since EVu software doesn't support DishPro or DishPro+ technologies.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I got 65 on the signal meter. That is tweaked to the max on a Dish 500. I got picture and sound on my 2800. This is what is weird...when I hooked it up to my 6000, it got signal when the software was restraming to it....but then after it was updated, it showed no signal on the ird meter...none whatsoever? If I get that issue figured out, I'm wondering if the HD picture quality is going to be worth the trouble at a 65 signal strength?

They dont use 8PSK with BEV. Both my BEV 6000 units (East and West) have a big open slot where the Dish 6000 have the 8PSK modules.

Correct, If you have an 8psk installed you must remove it or you will get no signal.
