Is there a way to dim the front panel light on a VIP612? I like to go to sleep with music playing, but the panel lights up the room with the lights off. Any help appreciated, I tried searching.

I would use something like this.

Or something less opaque if you just want to dim it.
I had a customer who complained that their dial up modem was too loud. I took a look and couldn't find anyway to lower the volume on the modem. ( It had an onboard Piezo speaker. ) So I eventually stuck two layers of electrical tape over the speaker hole. It lowered the volume about 75%.
That was audio, but same idea. I would think that masking might show some glow and something like electrical would block it completely. The little dots above would have a nicer appearance. I would go up to Wal-mart and look in the stationery aisle.

I use those 3M Scotch Removable wall tabs to cover up my Vip-211 HDTV light. No problems removing it after a year.
