Can EV really get away with this?

I recently informed my broker that my one year with Expressvu was ending in January and I would like to switch to Star Choice.

She informed me that Expressvu requires that the one year agreement be complete at the time a disconnect order is placed and that EV requires a 30-day-notice. Threfore, I could not disconect until February.

Isn't this the same as turning a 12-month-commitment into a 13-month one?

ExpressVu does cancel at the end of the bill cycle.....I had the same thing over a year ago when I switched. I had both for about 3 weeks
