Cablevision Systems announced Tuesday that it joined the board of the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA).
Launched in December 2005, HANA is an industry consortium that promotes HD home-entertainment products and services and aims to simplify the process of installing them.
Other HANA member companies include Charter Communications, JVC, Mitsubishi, NBC Universal, Samsung, Sun Microsystems, Texas Instruments and Warner Bros.
"Cablevision is not only committed to providing our customers with a broad array of compelling content, but also to pioneering the way content is viewed and shared throughout the home," senior advisor for engineering and technology Wilt Hildenbrand said in a prepared statement. “HANA's clear mission is to enable this vision, which is why we are pleased to be part of this alliance and to directly contribute to achieving these important objectives.”
