I have just installed DirecTV and also have Cable Broad band, my problem is that I want them both to run through the same cable. I know that I need some type of Diplexer on both ends to combine the signals and then another one to break them back out and I have tried a diplexer for Radio Shack but it didn't work. Is there some "special" type of diplexer that I need for broadband and if so where would I be able to get such a device?

You will end up burning out the cable using both, broadband uses a much higher frequency than the usual cable, diplexing that thru a direct tv feed line is asking to burn out the cable

In most cases the broadband frequency is very low and many diplexers won't pass the low frequency. You are better off with two separate cables if possible.

I'm running both totally independently. I gave the same thing a thought also.

Why bother? One more cable coming through the same hole in the foundation makes no difference.

Does DirecTV have space?

How many dishes do I need for HD? Upstate New York?
