It is really just like a SWM install. i would use an approved DirecTV green label splitter and PI.

Should add you do not want to install the splitter behind any but the red terminal.

Yes. I have one C31 hooked up to both HDMI (TV) and component (slingbox). Only port that I am not sure is active is the USB port but I am not sure what that would be used for anyways.
