C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2 are going digital here in a few weeks. According to the person I spoke with on the phone C-SPAN 2 will be first. With C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2 there will be "dual illumination" of both the analog and digital transponders initially.. and then the analog ones will go away. Oh, that's good right? WRONG! They will follow suit with C-SPAN 3 and be encrypted with PowerVu and end users will not be able to get their own PowerVu receivers authorized. This is for them to keep better track of who's re-distributing their programming.. I suppose I can decommission my analog box now.. and I only got started with big dish stuff less than a year ago
