With my setup: coolsat 6000, a 90cm fortec reflector, and HH90 motor, and my understanding, there is a 'new' LNBF on the market, that, will receive both C-band, and Ku-band, is there any likelihood, that, I could receive C-band, and not have to install a larger reflector than the 36" I already have? It would be nice to receive RFD on C-band!
Thanks in advance for all information!

Highly unlikely with that small of a dish. There have been some experimenters using 1.2 metre dishes but results have been hit or miss.

Your best bet is still something 6 feet or bigger for C-band.

A 36 incher would probably pull in only the stronger analog and probably not that well. You sould be able to get RFD with a six-foot stationary. I tried it a while ago with my Fortec and was able to pick it up with good signal strength after tweaking.

With a smaller dish you may get the really STRONG channels, but it would have a C-Band beamwidth of more than 4º meaning signals from adjacent C-Band satellites just 2º away will fall within the antennas main beam!!! Minimum size for C-band is 1.8m or 6'

I thought the guys braggin' about getting C-band on a 4 foot dish, were on the bleeding edge.
edit: apparently there are plenty of threads discussing dishes down to 30 inches.

I once got one spanish channel that was C-Band on a 30" dish and nothing else that was DVB. Analog channels were barley watachable/distinguishable.

Your going to need a bigger dish for RFD I'm afraid.

I strapped on a " regular " analog C band feed horn & LNB on a 90 cm offser dish . I got all the C band sats , to some degree . Some very strong ( G 4 channels 14 & 15 analog ) , most weak , but somewhat watchable & some very weak .

Very little digital .

Fun project , not reccomended for your regular source of TV .
