I was noticing my c-band lnbf's. I am using a 1.8 Meter offset dish to receiver g-10r and satmex c-band with two lnbf's mounted on my dish.

my lnbf's are supposed to be designed for use with an offset dish. They are astrotel 20 degree K. I was reading on a website that a dielectric plate has to be installed before it will work with an offset dish f/d. My offset dish has an f/d of .6 , but the lnbf's are only marked as high a .45 f/d.

But they work. I have the scaler rings set at .45 to get the best signal after playing around with them.

My question is... Are these lnbf's prime focus lnbf's? because they have no plate inside the feedhorn. All is see is two pins, one horizontal and one vertical. There is a metal rod at the end of the feedhorn deep inside all the way to the bottom. Could this be the "offset dielectric" modification?

Or do I have prime focus lnbf's that just happen to get decent signal on an offset dish? and is that possible?

Any input would be appreciated greatly. :)
