buying or leasing 942 ?

Hi,

I'm a new-to-be subscriber and I would like to hear some opinions about if it's better to lease or to buy the 942.

Is it worth it to give $250 away for leasing vs. paying $600 and whatever for owning it?

If (or when) an mpeg4 upgrade happens, do you guys think the owners will get a good deal to upgrade to a new receiver?

will this receiver support mpeg4 via software upgrade?

I opted for the lease...however that was 3 1/2 months ago. I get the feeling E* may be dropping the purchase price of the and/or offering better deals in the coming months. Who knows? We are very glad that we leased the 942 when we did (purchase price was too much for a non MPEG-4 HD HDVR), but given the same opportunity today we would probably look for additional incentives. We keep hearing about the sweet deals that current D* customers are receiving on their HD DVR $299 w/$100 rebate. Hopefully E* will match or better the offer.
