Burnt connectors

I was repositioning some dishes and lnbs over the past week. All the installs were done last November.

On 2 dual lnbs I noticed the white nylon in the lnb was black and appeared burnt at one of the connections. The RG6 also appeared burnt.

The connection and lnb seems to be working.

What causes/caused something like this and should I be concerned?

Its water getting inside your connection and then interacting with the voltage from the satellite receiver.

I assume that's not good.

How serious is it?

Assuming the systems are still working, the damage done will reveal itself over time, but at a minimum to prevent any further events I would replace any outdoor connectors (use snap and seal) or weatherproof what ever you use.
If there is any damage to the LNB it may show up in extreme temperature situations.
