thanks for any help you can give me---- from what i have read, with this type lnbf , the 4dtv unit is slave and captive works is primary- how would you hook this up and any extra splitters needed---how will this affect the 4dtv receiver channel switching as i subscribe to hbo and a few other services. i will be using a 8.5 ft raydish(raydx). i am waiting for the receiver to arrive and the lnbf and trying to Lean all i can because if anyone can louse it up i can. thanks again.

thankyou---however with the bs621 c/ku lnbf9 (combines c/ku on one cable in) , i thought it had to be looped though the fta box ? this is what i am not sure of. is this different from the diagram you dirrected me to. ---thanks again

The 4DTV will not control the DiSEqC Switch.

Did you want C/Ku on the 4DTV?

You'll need to run ribbon cable run out to the 8' dish if it's going to be movable. In this case you'll already have dual RG-6 run to the dish. You're going to be moving the dish with the 4DTV, right? The 4DTV will need to go back to G1 every night to pull it's guide. It'll also need to be able to get the correct polarity to do this.

For all these reasons most of us slave the DVB box to the 4DTV.

You could 'loop out' the 4DTV but you'd have to do c-band only and then set a timer on the DVB box to set the polarity correct when the 4DTV swings the dish over to G1 at night.

Doing it via the above diagram is probably the best way to go. You can still seperate C and Ku on two cables with that LNBF. It just conveniently includes a 2x1 DiSEqC switch on-board that you don't need.

You don't have to combine the signals with the built in diseq switch. You can go straight from the C-band output to a splitter and straight from the ku-band output to a splitter. And then, you can follow the diagram in the link. You would then need a different diseqc switch for the DVB receiver. But, that's how I would do it.

the problem is that i only have one cable in-- i bought this lnbf because it brings c/ku in on one cable== the dish is old and i no longer can run another cable in do to what is in the way.=== the manufacture does not recommend using it with the 4 d reciever, i read its ok to use if the fta receiver conrols switching from c to ku, it mebtioned looping but didn,t explain. again thanks all for trying to help

Are you planning on moving the 8' dish or will it be fixed on G1 (Galaxy 15)? You'll need at least 5 more wires to run the actuator. The 'normal' way to do this is with Satellite Ribbon cable. The ribbon has 2 RG6 cables, a bundle of 3 wires for the skew control (you don't need), and another bundle of five wires + a ground for the actuator.
