So a old installer friend of mine from Florida was passing through last week and brought me a box of C and Ku feeds and LNBs. all brand new. Norsat and California Amp LNB's and one thing that caught my attention. I see a box that says CalAmp on it and never new they made feeds. Opened it up and it had the CalAmp sticker on it. C and Ku polarotor but had ADL stampings all over it. Question is, I seem to remember hearing there was something special about them, is there? I might be thinking of a dual ortho they made.

ADL and CalAmp sold the same feedhorns for C and C/Ku band, many years ago, with separate part numbers. The ADL RP1 series had a fixed dual moding feed plate that was far superior to Chaparral and other feeds, and because of its unique design was able to greatly reduce sidelobes. It was optimized to work with f/d ratios between 0.335 and 0.425. A deep dish version of same was called the RP2, working best on 0.275 and 0.335.

You may also find the RP3 series of feedhorns, which were mechanically similar to Chaparral's adjustable scalar line, but with an improvement in performance as compared to brand C.

Thank you Mike, I have a 10 foot perforated Unimesh in perfect condition, actually brand new, just put it up 4 months ago. I don't have a LOS for a Ku dish. Have a Ortho C-band feed on it, put considering, swapping this ADL so I can get Ku also. Just hope the dual band feed does not hurt my C-band much.
