Before you get too excited by the Borat image on the right, just stop and realize there is no Borat for HD fans this week. In fact there is no nothing, zilch and nada for both formats this week. This hasn't happened very many times since HD DVD was launched last year and certainly hasn't happened since both formats were out. What is even more bothersome is that there are a few big name titles this week released on DVD, including Borat and the re-release of Peter Pan. Considering both of these are potential Blu-ray titles, Blu-ray fanboys everywhere have to be wondering what is up? Doesn't Fox and Disney have enough faith in Blu-ray to release these two big titles for the format?

HD DVD 163 vs Blu-ray 179.

Blu-ray

Zilch
HD DVD

Borat looked terrible at the theater as if it was shot on a cheap home movie cam. HD will not do anything for it. I remember how much criticism HD DVD got for releasing FMJ which looked "bad" but was just a true representation of the film. Thats the way the film looked. I think to release a film that looks as bad as borat does would be a mistake for HD DVD. Let Bluray catch flack for releasing another Robocrap.

So fanboys, what is so great about your format?

Blu-Ray replication costs equal to HD-DVD?
